The best statement about my art came from a friend, who, after looking at my portfolio said, 'Will, you photograph light. Whether you are photographing flowers, landscapes, nudes or junk, you photograph the light." I liked that thought because it covers both aspects of photography. In the darkroom I enjoy bringing out the full range of light and dark in pictures, whether they were there to begin with or not. It also covers the physical/chemical reactions that take place when photographing.
I also enjoy photographing lines and shapes, and things I find amusing like teddy bears on motorcycles or shop signs. I enjoy doing people in a non-formal way, I am often amazed what they will do in front of a camera.
