I remember getting my first camera in the mid-50's, a Kodak Brownie. When I found out how fast a roll of film could go and that I had to pay for film and development myself, not many pictures were take. There were only a few summer camp photos and the collie next door. Nothing more until college 10 years later.
From the 60's and 70's, I have a lot of pictures of friends, names long forgotten, and pictures taken while hiking. My hiking buddy liked to take time setting up a photo, so I started enjoying looking at the world around me in different ways. I wish I could say I had lots of great photos from those hikes, but no, some nice wild flowers and mountains too far a way to tell which ones they are.
After teaching for 6 years, someone gave me my first serious camera, so I'd have something to do when I didn't have a job substituting. A year later I started taking classes at The Academy of Art College in San Francisco and I've been talking photos ever since. I'll let my work speak for itself.
