November Featured Guest Artist – Don Tiller
Port Townsend Gallery will feature the contemp-orary acrylic landscape paintings of guest artist Don Tiller throughout the month of November.

Tiller plans to exhibit some pieces of a new series that he has been working on. The artist has challenged himself to use something quite simple for a subject, such as two trees, and then create a distinctly different mood or expression for a companion painting by using different color combinations and a few simple background details. Tiller has recently completed over a dozen of these works and will be showing five of the newer ones at Port Townsend Gallery. He will also display an assortment of new mini postcard-sized paintings.
When describing his approach to painting, Tiller explains “I am intrigued with the imprint left on the landscape when touched by mankind. With bold colors and simple shapes, I have given these paintings my interpretation of Man’s attempt to initiate order in nature. Natural chaos provides interest balanced with geometric repetition.” Meet the artist at a reception during Gallery Walk, Saturday November 1st from 5:30 to 8PM.

November Art Sale!!
Port Townsend Gallery is proud to have hung in there for eleven years, and couldn't have done it without local support. Our artist co-op got started in Nov. 1997 with eleven members, and has moved from the original location in the lobby of the Bishop Victorian Hotel, to the building now occupied by Northwind Arts Center, and finally in 2002 to our present location at 715 Water Street in 2002. To celebrate these Elevenses, we're offering 11% off everything in the gallery, except work by our Nov. guest artist Don Tiller. On Nov. 11th, at 11:00 am, any customers in the gallery will receive a mystery gift too!

Gallery member Mary Lynn Maloney is pleased to announce the release of her newest book, titled "Decorated Boxes." Right now, the book is available on amazon.com. The book will be available at the gallery in the next few weeks.
