December Newsletter
The Port Townsend Gallery will feature two of our most gifted artists: gold and silver jeweler Etta Roth and oil painter Pat Sandmann. A reception will be held for Etta and Pat on December 6th during Gallery Walk from 5:30 to 8:00 PM.

Necklace by Etta Roth.
Turquoise, Opal and Pink Tourmaline set in 24K gold, and Moonstone and Jade in silver.
Jewelry by Etta
Etta's current collection of jewelry was inspired after a visit to the Wiener Werkstatte jewelry exhibit that was held last year at the Neue Galerie in New York. The Werkstatte pieces were created in Vienna between 1903 and 1920, and reflect influences of the English Arts and Crafts Movement, Art Noveau style, and Art Deco forms. Etta has incorporated elements of design from "the most exquisite jewelry I have ever seen" into her newest work. She continues to create with her favorite stone, turquoise, as well as with amber, fossilized walrus ivory, and 24k gold.
Holiday Gifts for Patrons

“Cello Player” oil painting by Pat Sandmann.
Pat Sandmann
Pat Sandmann considers herself a social artist. She enjoys associating with artists, and in order to do so, she maintains that she needs to be one. Sandmann believes that the main reason she has worked on her drawing, painting, and sculpture for so long is that she loves the human face and the expressions found on it. She explains: “I'm basically a voyeur; I like to watch people.” Lately, Sandmann has been doing pleine aire painting with the ‘Weather or Not’ group, a bunch of artists who, she says, “push me to work harder, just so that I can say I’m an artist.”
